Boxing Champion Trainer


Kelly Davis brings some Southern charm to the gym from his birthplace of Natchez, Mississippi. He has traveled the world as a professional boxer — achieving World Title Belts from the International Boxing Federation, the International Boxing Association, the United States Boxing Association, the International Fight League, King of the Cage, the UFC Ultimate Fighting Championship and Rage in the Cage.

Kelly turned to coaching in 1998. He's trained multiple boxing champions, including Eric Harding, Olympic Gold Medalist Vassily Jirov, Kelvin Davis, Steve Forbes, Jackson Bussell, and Mixed Martial Arts Champions Richard Hale, Ken Shamrock and Vernon (Tiger) White. He has also held training camps for Roy Jones, Cliffard Ettinan (Black Rhino), Kelvin Davis (Koncrete), Hassium Rahman (Rock) and Shane Cameron.

Vassiliy Jirov Certified Trainer


Vassiliy "The Tiger" Jirov is a professional Kazakh boxer, former IBF cruiserweight champion and Olympic gold medalist at the Atlanta games in 1996. Jirov made his debut as a professional on January 18, 1997, with a two round knockout of Vince Brown in Las Vegas. He won eleven fights that first year, all by knockout, including wins over Exum Speight and Art Jimmerson. In 1999, Jirov was given his first world title try: in front of an HBO Boxing audience, he beat IBF world Cruiserweight champion Arthur Williams by a knockout in seven rounds at Biloxi, Mississippi, to become that organization's World Cruiserweight Champion.


After recently retiring from boxing, Vassiliy is using his experience and love of the sport to help others get in the best shape of their life. He will also be hosting a weekly "Kids Klinic" on Saturdays here at Koncrete Gym.


Rico Hoye Champion Trainer


Rico Hoye is a professional boxer who has competed in the light heavyweight and cruiserweight divisions and has recently moved up to Heavyweight. He comes from Detroit MI, is a former World title challenger and was a contestant in the fourth season of the Contender. Rico made his professional debut in June 2001 and by 2003 he won his first title, the IBA continental light heavyweight title.


Rico is an expert trainer who focuses on all levels of boxing and general fitness and works well with experts, entry level people and children looking to learn boxing or just get in shape. Rico's hours are 6AM to 2PM Monday through Friday.


Gwen Dannenbaum


Gwen "The Machine" Dannenbaum is a certified fitness instructor, personal trainer and also teaches most of our boxing/fitness and kickboxing/fitness classes. Gwen focuses on general fitness, beginner boxing and is great at motivation! Gwen’s training hours are Tuesday through Friday 4PM to 7PM and Saturday’s from 8AM to Noon and of course she does our boxing and kickboxing fitness classes at 5PM and 6PM.


Dave Quarles Trainer


David Quarles is an aspiring boxer and mixed martial arts fighter who is currently studying for his BS in Kinesiology and is a certified fitness instructor. David focuses on training boxing, kickboxing and general fitness and works well with entry level people and children looking to learn boxing or just get in shape. David is available 7 days a week, 10:30AM to 8PM Monday through Friday and 8AM to 4PM Saturday and Sunday.


Mike King Trainer


Mike King is a professional MMA fighter and boxer who was recently discharged from the United States Army where he was a Special Forces Ranger. Mike leads our teens MMA class and also works out with many of the professional athletes that come in to the gym. Mike can train beginners up to professionals and focuses on boxing, Muay Thai, grappling and general fitness. Mike’s hours are 9AM to 8PM Monday through Friday and Saturday by appointment.


Sam Young Trainer


Sam Young is an up and coming boxer and mixed martial artist. The son of a U.S. Army Welterweight Boxing Champion, Sam was groomed to be a competitive fighter from the age of 5. He is a 4-time Golden Gloves Amateur Boxing Champion. Sam is also a very experienced martial artist who holds a 2nd Dan black belt in Olympic-style (WTF) Taekwondo and a 1st Dan black belt in Hapkido. Sam has over 300 taekwondo bouts and is a feared and respected competitor. Sam was a 2-time U.S. Open Champion, a 3-time Junior Olympic Champion, and a candidate for the 1996 U.S. Pam-American Games.


Sam is excellent at introducing beginners to the finer points of "the Sweet Science", as well as bringing intermediate students up to the next level in their progression. He is also a very experienced Taekwondo coach and has worked with students of all ages and skill levels. Come see what Sam can help YOU do for YOU!
